Creative mentor

For over ten years, I have been making an impact in the community by volunteering with Art Buddies as a creative mentor and being active on the Advisory Board. Over the course of three decades, Art Buddies has brought joyful and free one-to-one creative mentorship to thousands of children at Twin Cities' highest-need schools and communities. The mentors help kids from deserving families discover their creative abilities and become more confident. They have brought over 20,000 Activity Kits to children at various locations, including Head Start, schools, homeless shelters, and community events. Additionally, they pair 160 creative mentors annually with 160 inner-city kids, offering workshops for 7-10 weeks. 

In the Character Creation Program, the mentor and child work together to create a fun costume that reflects their interests, strengths and really showcases their imagination. These creative activities are designed to help children believe in themselves, discover their talents and expand their vision of who they can become.
